I walked away from both births with healthy babies… and a broken heart.
That experience led me to dive deep into birth education. I read every book, listened to every podcast, took every course. What I found was this:
Birth doesn’t have to be traumatic.
But for it to be empowering, you need information, options, and support.
When I became pregnant again, I planned a homebirth. While I ultimately transferred to the hospital during transition, I gave birth vaginally after two cesareans—and felt more powerful and seen than I ever had before.
It wasn’t just the VBAC.
It was how I was treated.
It was how prepared I felt.
It was that, for the first time, I got to choose my team, my environment, and my rhythm.
